The golf season is longer at Crooked River Ranch in Central Oregon. Sheltered deep within an ancient gorge cut by the Deschutes River, Crooked River Ranch Golf Course keeps winter at bay just long enough to get in a few more rounds in the autumn and start out earlier in the spring. The golf course is usually out of the wind and a tad warmer down there. On average, you can get several more weeks out of the season.
This 5,661 yards, 18 hole, par 71 course is player friendly and you may shave about 6 strokes off your regular score. But there is plenty to hold your interest and lots of ways to get into trouble. Take some time to enjoy the spectacular gorge views as several holes are cliff-side. My favorite view is from the 3rd Tee.
