Recognizing the signs of bullying is important in order to fight it. Does your boss or co-worker constantly criticize you, or give you tasks that are impossible to complete? Are they always telling you that what your doing is wrong? Do they ever compliment you on a job well done? Constant negative feedback not only destroys your self-confidence, it can also destroy your future. The self-righteous know it all bully is one of the worst bullies you can have in the workplace. They are always right and you are always wrong. They feel it is their place to put everyone else in their place.
If you have encountered a workplace bully it is very important that you do something about it. Bullying should never be tolerated; everyone deserves to be treated with respect. If you see someone else being bullied you should speak up, let them know that they too have rights. No one wants to be a tell tale or a snitch, but bullying has such a devastating impact on those who are victims. It is imperative that a zero tolerance of bullying of every kind in the workplace should be the policy of everyone.

The health and welfare of both workers and the business is important. Because of the high incidence of on the job bullying, a policy of zero tolerance for bullies should be implemented. Everyone should become involved in watching for bullies and learning both how to deal with them and how to recognize them.
