Stop and think. Have you ever bullied anyone ? Bullying comes in many forms, but basically Bullying is when someone keeps doing or saying things to have power over another person. If you have ever been a bully, think about when and why you acted that way. How did it make you feel ? If it made you feel good, you need to find another way to make yourself feel good. Bullying can cause irreparable damage to relationships and to both the bully and the bullied. What goes around comes around is the same as bad karma. You are hurting yourself as much as you are hurting anyone.
Bullied people feel lonely and loss of self esteem. Bullies feel lonely too, because no one likes a bully and everyone will avoid being around someone who is picks on them. It isn't any fun to be alone, and if you cannot stop your bad behavior you will find that you are alone. IF you can't get along with the people in your workplace you will not be able to gain their support and loyalty when you need to. It will be very hard to get anything done if you don't have the support of your team at work.
Watch what you Say.
Bullying is something you can learn not to do if you really but some time and effort into it. You can ask your friends and colleagues for help. If you want to learn how to stop bullying others, you must learn to watch the way you deal with others in the workplace or anywhere. As a office manager or a supervisor, you need to keep a check on yourself and the way you interact with others. Always think before you speak, weigh your words and the consequences. Treat others as you would have them treat you.
Stop and Think about your actions.
There are several questions that you should ask yourself. 1. Am I too quick to criticize my subordinates?' 2. Do I give my subordinates enough encouragement?" 3. Are my actions causing others around me to be miserable ? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then you need to rethink your motivations and reasons for acting the way you have. If your not sure, ask those around you for help. Ask them how they have perceived your actions and how they have felt.
It may not be easy to take the medicine, but it is important that you listen carefully and learn from your mistakes. Take the time to really think about what they say about your attitude and actions. You will have a much better working relationship with the people around you if you can learn to stop bullying them.
Be the kind of person to others that you would have them be to you.
